My #FumeScentlounge VIP @davelackie event

VIP event introducing #fumescentlounge for the launch of Marc Jacob’s #DaisyTwinkle perfume

I was fortunate enough to win an invite to the Fume Scent Lounge event hosted by Dave Lackie and also introducing Marc Jacob’s new scents Daisy Twinkle. This experience was unique in that Fume Scent Lounge is the only one of its kind .

It was held in the cosmetics dept beside Mac Cosmetics and the mall. It’s design is extraordinary and lends itself to something out of the future as does its concept and technology.

Created by Dianne Sonnenberg   ,a  State of the art interactive touch screen guides you to help discover top notes that you are drawn to from a few questions to the Scent lighting up for you to smell along with three perfumes that are perfect for you. In my case it was 100% accurate as it choose my two Scents that I already own and love. The third is on my list of must haves now,it was the Bogetta Veneta.

It was a very special event in that it was the day before Valentines Day so love ,beautiful scents and wonderful people filled the room. We have Dave Lackie to thank for that ,his events are thoughtful and detailed like no one else can .The room was filled with displays of flowers and perfumes and the most beautiful Daisy Marc Jacob’s floral background

Drinks and  hors d’oeuvres  were constantly flowing throughout the room and it was wonderful speaking with people about the technology that worked for everyone! It was a learning experience that was unique and I don’t think I will ever pick a perfume anymore without referring to Fume Scent Lounge technology first!

It was a wonderful experience with wonderful people who care about beauty and sharing this experience and we were fortunate to have received a gracious gift bag with Daisy Twinkle perfume, makeup pouch and bracelets, how cute is that? Very sweet and generous indeed

Good Girl Scent Event

This week was unusual in the sense that I had two events to go to and the first being the Carolina Herrera launch of her perfume Good Girl hosted by Dave Lackie atop the Hudson Bay overlooking the city, in particular the iconic Toronto landmark sign and skate rink!

I arrive early as per usual which gave me the time I needed to walk around the iconic landmark Hudson Bay Christmas windows just as It was getting dark. This is my third year in a row being in the right place at the right time although next year I hope for my daughter’s to join me but I videotaped the windows  to show the girls. My favourite window was the tiny Fiat with a lit Christmas tree on top on it!

Time to head to  inside Hudson Bay where I met up with friends in the Cosmetics Department which is the best place to be and possibly My favourite place on earth! Friends that were  also attending the Good Girl Scent Event . As we anxiously await we decided to head upstairs for the event. Once there we were greeted with Good Girl cocktails, champagne and a flower that is no doubt a note in the fragrance! Dave Lackie is the best at the details that truly take his events to an over the top level of pure luxury!I was so happy and having fun I forgot to take a picture of the cocktails and I also was pleasantly surprised by a friend @jeffreysmith that stopped by!

The crowd was rowdy and the energy was contagious as I think we were just so happy to be there! So many wonderful people from Twitter and we all have a like minded interest in beauty! All thanks to Dave Lackie!

This brings me to the Good Girl Scent created by Carolina Herrera. It unlike any other in its design, I mean it’s a stiletto!! The scent does not disappoint as it is floral and moody yet remains feminine .

. It has jasmine, coffee and cocoa in it which gives it an earthy yet elegant combination! It’s really beautiful!

The dinner was delicious and the salad was a work of art in itself! Everyone had a wonderful time as we couldn’t stop talking and so many playful moments and memories!

As you can from theses photos no one was shy! This is @djrm Daniel Murphy with @sempteberdee and @mittionEmily Emily Mitton

As one would expect at @Davelackie  VIP Twitter event that people from all over the world were following along winning items throughout the dinner .

All in all this was an amazing experience,Event,Dinner launch that will go down in the books as a magical night with magical people in a magical place atop Hudson Bay! To top it off each guest received a Good Girl Scent to take home! It is absolutely a magical Scent!

I also wanted to mention I made everything that I wore to this event! My coat, dress and bow brooch was made by me! I can’t even believe that but it’s true and I loved that each piece felt comfortable but elegant with a very vintage feel!

My Day at Dior

Wearing my handmade Bow brooch that I made and thought it was appropriate and Diorish

Waking on a gloomy November day in the woods outside peterborough  didn’t bother me because I was on my way to Dior Yorkdale. I was invited for a makeover with a small group of friends. There is nothing more fabulous then hanging out at the Dior station in the Cosmetics department! My memories of this department go way back into my childhood and basically has left a profound affect on my life, especially at Christmas time, the Cosmetics department was always decorated with white and silver trees, which is why I have one white tree and two silver trees decorated with my vintage ornaments.

I was invited by Dave Lackie  and it  was executed by  Darline Chalmer Public Relations and Makeup Artist for Dior and Anne Marie Makeup artist and teacher for Dior. When I heard the pop of champagne I know this makeover had begun! We were each assigned a makeup artist and mine was Daisy who was not only talented by very kind and extremely informative and explained each step exactly!

I was a tad obsessed with the Diorific Khol Powder Lipstick #991 and Daisy created the look around this shade! But Daisy had to take off the lipstick I came in first! I wasn’t brave enough to leave the house without any makeup on!

The look was created using the High Fidelity Colours and Effects In Magnify

Finished look and a Surprise Earth Elements necklace by Daniel . It couldn’t have been more appropriate or appreciated! Thank you Daniel!

I was absolutely thrilled with my look and learned so much about each product used. This group was wonderful! We talked and laughed and it just was afternoon that I will never forget, filled with great people interested in like minded things ! If this day wasn’t perfect enough, each guest received a gift bag of goodies!! Theses goodies are fabulous! We had a Dior Skin Air Flash Spray Foundation matched to us and is basically magic in a bottle!,a Flash Luminizer Radiant Booster Pen,Fix It 2 in 1 concealer ,a Backstage Pros Lip Sugar Scrub,a Rouge Dior Lipstick and a Dior Pump’n Volume.I am so wowed by this bag and I can tell you these products are incredible and will give you a go to look for everyday and or Christmas and New Years Eve.

Thank you to Dave Lackie and the Dior team for a fabulous makeover and the most absolutely fabulous experience with great people! This gift bag was extraordinary and I have started using immediately!

Guerlain Heaven

This week I went to heaven on earth on Eighth floor of Hudson Bay for the Guerlain launch of the Kiss Kiss matte lipstick hosted by Dave Lackie, Cityline beauty expert and creator of Beauty the Guide.

The venue was grand and glamorous and the signature Kiss Kiss cocktails were so pretty made with Grapefruit and vodka with a I think were petunias adorned the drink. It was light and refreshing and so delicious!!This room had an air of old world Hollywood, it was so glamorous!! I loved it!! I honestly cannot imagine a more perfect evening.

The space was large and it was spectacular filled with makeup stations and ingredients used to make some of the Guerlain products .I also had the pleasure of meeting Vice President of marketing Sandrine Briatte! She was informative and a beautiful, kind person.

I was also already a fan of Maxime Poulin international makeup artist for Guerlain. He was very sweet and gave me a touch up. He did in moments what takes me ages to do, a soft natural glow using the new Guerlain Baby Glow Luminizer and the new Kiss Kiss lipstick in Spicy Burgundy.

It was wonderful seeing familiar faces and meeting new Twitter friends.

The food was exquisite and probably the best meal I’ve ever had!!!

This was an evening of great company, incredible food and the best beauty products from an historical, luxury brand.I am obsessed with the Baby Glow Luminizer, it’s in a stick and is so easy to use! Mine is in the colour Golden Glow.

Each guest received a gift bag of Guerlain items that are wonderful and so luxe!!

Thank you to @DaveLackie, @CookieGigan and Beth Anderson for having me, it was an honour to be there and I am always grateful for the time we share together.Thank you!!!

The Jason Wu Effect

I had the greatest invitation to #JasonWu VIP Fragrance dinner hosted by Dave Lackie at Canoe restaurant located in centre of downtown Toronto . This event was the launch of Jason Wu’s  very first perfume titled Jason Wu.Upon arrival I was greeted by Dave who is always the most gracious host and makes everyone feel comfortable.I should say the first is also the incredible view of the city that the 54 th floor ,that only the Canoe can provide! It was breathtaking! Secondly, the displays of Jason perfume are scattered throughout the room amongst the white flowers that have the notes in his perfume.

Worker bees and friends @cookiegigan and @Bethanderson

Before taking it all in I was greeted by a lovely waiter carrying a tray of signature cocktails especially for this event. They were one of the tastiest drinks I have ever had!  The blush colour is reminiscent of Jason Wu perfume! Its these kind of details that Dave can put into an event like no one else can.

I had not had the privilege of smelling this perfume until that day and it is so pretty and light and is floral. Jason Wu had created this Fragrance with his childhood in mind growing up in Taiwan..His memories of jasmine vines were a steadfast presence and is so prevalent in his perfume. It has notes of pink pepper, fig, freesia, peony and musk. The combination of these notes are incredible and it really does have its own uniqueness. Now, The Bottle!!!! I cannot believe the substantial presence of this bottle. Yes it has its own presence because it is a piece of art in itself! It is thick one inch rectangular that is perfectly smooth even on the bottom, an aspect Jason was adamant about as he didn’t want the bottom of the bottle to have any lines showing the connection. A design detail that Perfumer Frank Voelkl and manufacturer executed to perfection, no lines!!! The 90 ml bottle is massive and is  topped with a gold circle and the combination of the smooth rectangular and circular gold lid is absolute perfection.

Dinner was wonderful!! The Canoe focuses on a Canadiana menus . My vegetarian diet allowed my tastes to flourish with a green bean salad starter followed by roasted vegetables entree, fresh  Niagara fruit on crème fraîche.

I had made my dress waiting for the right occasion to wear it and this was it! It was important for me to meet Jason Wu in my own design to perhaps make me feel encouraged that dreams can come true if you believe in yourself! It was comfortable and elegant at the same time!

It was a evening that brings familiar faces and new faces together to celebrate beauty in all its glory, this Jason  Wu Fragrance dinner was no exception! I think our senses were heightened in anticipation of meeting with this uber famous fashion designer that now can add perfumer to his already extraordinary career. Having had his dresses worn by Michele Obama, then First Lady of USA and so many famous people, the excitement was tangible. He was lovely and well spoken and we were lucky enough to have a picture taken with him. Each guest received a magnificent 90 ml bottle of Jason Wu to take home.It is a memory I will have forever!!! Thank you Dave Lackie!!!! And thank you to Cookie Gigan and Beth Anderson for this opportunity! Grateful, grateful, grateful!! Thank you!!

Shiseido #ShareBeauty Experience

I was so very fortunate to have been invited to the second # sharebeauty campaign from Shiseido. Having been to the first event I thought I knew what I was expecting, I was wrong this event was nothing that anyone could have anticipated . It was as unique as the venue!

This Shiseido event was hosted by Dave Lackie and Shiseido Vice President Elaine Shigeishi at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Shiseido combines art and beauty along with Canada 150 Birthday with a limited edition Eudermine Body Oil. If that wasn’t unique and beautiful enough Shiseido collaborated with Montreal artist Alexandra Mackenzie to design the artwork for the packaging of this lotion.

It was a visual feast the moment I walked into the Red Room located in the Frank restaurant in the AGO. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect, red walls matching perfectly to the to the star of the show the Eudermine  Canada limited edition Body lotion . Art , beauty and culture the perfect trio!

The atmosphere was happy and the attention to details was incredible in so that Dave Lackie created a truly exquisite event and this was an extraordinary experience too! This time we were able to bring a friend to #sharebeauty which was so thoughtful and enhanced the mood to utter joy! My sister in law @kjsoldit was my BFF!

We had cocktails before dinner which gave us ample time for photos and mingling. With our host extraordinaire Dave Lackie and twitter friend @jenni40 and with Elaine Shigeishi.

Before dinner we were invited to preview products that are new and upcoming for fall. I was ooohhhh and awwwing as the Shiseido makeup artist displayed the Paperlight Cream Eye Colours,Inkstroke Eyeliner all of which come in a variety of colours with the most beautiful eyeliner tool!!! Along with their gorgeous lipsticks!!

Dinner was served! I had Wild Greens Salad with Sea Bream and sorbet for dessert! It was wonderful to eat and talk and we learned so much of the campaign through a Q&A from Dave and Elaine during dinner!

After dinner were given a beautiful gift bag with the artist artwork on it filled with goodies but I will get to that. We were given tickets to the AGO  to meet artist Alexandra Mackenzie and experience the first pop up night life and the beautiful art exhibit throughout the entire gallery. We were given a paper leaf to write what Canada is to each of us and had it placed on the tree in the gallery placed by artist Alexandra Mackenzie . We also sharebeauty in a letter to someone we love and it was mailed by Shiseido. I choose both my daughter’s Mya&Lola. It was awesome!! This event had so many layers it was incredible! It was so perfectly done and it was a full evening or beauty, art , food, friends, this event had it all from beginning to end!! This was our gift bag filled with beautiful products that I love and have been wearing .

Thank you to Dave Lackie , Cookie Gigan , Beth Anderson and Elaine Shigeishi of Shiseido for a remarkable and unforgettable experience that I will treasure forever!!
