This was my order from Luv Your Skin Company 1) a foundation in the shade Sand , a Pressed powder foundation in the colour sand and a Lip Balm. This is my second foundation as it dries to a powdery finish which is my fave and I have reviewed it in a earlier blog post . The Pressed Powder Foundation is a new try for me and I have been away visiting family and have been using this for on the go and is nice for this time of year as it is powdery and sheer ,and has a mirror which is perfect so I’ve had it in my purse ready to go!! The lip balm is a protective emollient balm that protects and hydrates your lips. I use at night only because I wear lipstick militantly but this would be perfect for the pool and or beach day activity to keep your lips perfect!!
Another pleasant purchase from this Luv Your Skin Company! I cannot wait to try out more of her skin line care line !!! It’s really wonderful and addictive and keeps you wanting to try more.
I must have be aligned with good fortune last week because I had the absolute pleasure of attending Daniel Murphy @djdrm1972 backyard BBQ celebration! The weather was perfect and so was his backyard. Bursting with flowers and multiple sitting areas and the handmade jewellery was literally hanging everywhere!! He had necklaces hanging in the trees from the tent, not to mention the Judy displays bursting with necklaces , bracelets all made by Daniel!! I throughly enjoyed myself and was so present in the moment and sat and took it all in. Daniel had a beautiful feast with delicious desserts and a candy station to load up on for home!! If great friends, atmosphere, weather weren’t enough he had gift bags prepared to each guest to take home. Both my hubby and I had the best time, Hun meeting my Twitter friends for the first time. Thank you Daniel and Mike for a beautiful day surrounded by beautiful people and jewelry!!
I was so very fortunate to have been invited to the second # sharebeauty campaign from Shiseido. Having been to the first event I thought I knew what I was expecting, I was wrong this event was nothing that anyone could have anticipated . It was as unique as the venue!
This Shiseido event was hosted by Dave Lackie and Shiseido Vice President Elaine Shigeishi at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Shiseido combines art and beauty along with Canada 150 Birthday with a limited edition Eudermine Body Oil. If that wasn’t unique and beautiful enough Shiseido collaborated with Montreal artist Alexandra Mackenzie to design the artwork for the packaging of this lotion.
It was a visual feast the moment I walked into the Red Room located in the Frank restaurant in the AGO. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect, red walls matching perfectly to the to the star of the show the Eudermine Canada limited edition Body lotion . Art , beauty and culture the perfect trio!
The atmosphere was happy and the attention to details was incredible in so that Dave Lackie created a truly exquisite event and this was an extraordinary experience too! This time we were able to bring a friend to #sharebeauty which was so thoughtful and enhanced the mood to utter joy! My sister in law @kjsoldit was my BFF!
We had cocktails before dinner which gave us ample time for photos and mingling. With our host extraordinaire Dave Lackie and twitter friend @jenni40 and with Elaine Shigeishi.
Before dinner we were invited to preview products that are new and upcoming for fall. I was ooohhhh and awwwing as the Shiseido makeup artist displayed the Paperlight Cream Eye Colours,Inkstroke Eyeliner all of which come in a variety of colours with the most beautiful eyeliner tool!!! Along with their gorgeous lipsticks!!
Dinner was served! I had Wild Greens Salad with Sea Bream and sorbet for dessert! It was wonderful to eat and talk and we learned so much of the campaign through a Q&A from Dave and Elaine during dinner!
After dinner were given a beautiful gift bag with the artist artwork on it filled with goodies but I will get to that. We were given tickets to the AGO to meet artist Alexandra Mackenzie and experience the first pop up night life and the beautiful art exhibit throughout the entire gallery. We were given a paper leaf to write what Canada is to each of us and had it placed on the tree in the gallery placed by artist Alexandra Mackenzie . We also sharebeauty in a letter to someone we love and it was mailed by Shiseido. I choose both my daughter’s Mya&Lola. It was awesome!! This event had so many layers it was incredible! It was so perfectly done and it was a full evening or beauty, art , food, friends, this event had it all from beginning to end!! This was our gift bag filled with beautiful products that I love and have been wearing .
Thank you to Dave Lackie , Cookie Gigan , Beth Anderson and Elaine Shigeishi of Shiseido for a remarkable and unforgettable experience that I will treasure forever!!
I was so impressed with my first experience of this company’s cosmetics and skin care line It was only natural to want more! Indeed there are so many wonderful products available online from Laura’s website that you will always be trying more, trust me.
This time around I am trying two makeup items and a skin care item. Firstly, I tried the blush in Sweetheart a Hydrasheer Pressed Blush that has a rosy matte finish that applied beautifully and stayed on all day effortlessly..This shade I think is extremely versatile and would work for many skin tones. It sells for $29.99
Secondly, I tried the Matte Rose Lipcolor which is a pinkish soft colour that has great pigment and is very moisturizing which is perfect for any time of year but especially nice for the summer months, I wear lipstick everyday!!Its has organic bees wax and shea butter.Rain or shine this will become my go to!!It sells for $19
The third item in my Lux Bag was an item from their skin care line ,20% Vitamin C Serum. This couldn’t have come at a better time as it promises to be the perfect elixir for aging and sun damaged skin ,both categories I fit into.Actually last week I received a little too much sun as I was overwhelmed to see it.
I was thrilled to start using this last Thursday. It smells great too, like oranges! I have been using each night as it feels wonderful and soaks into my skin.It costs $24.99 for a 30 ml bottle. This is really such a wonderful local company, that has so many certified organic products from makeup to skin care line and I always have a few items in my virtual cart and some are repeated items for sure.
Word has it that Luv Your Skin Company is coming out with a subscription box .I cannot wait to see what goodies would be arriving on a monthly basis. Stay tuned for further details as I will let everyone know more and when it becomes available. It would be the best of both worlds, skin care and makeup!! What could be better!! Nothing!!… ok so maybe I just let the cat out of the bag…………………….
Beauty enthusiasts put your social media antennas on and watch out for The Lux Bag, a monthly subscription box arriving at your mailbox each month with both their skin and makeup line items. I can say that’s it’s going to be wonderful and good for your skin! Seriously though how New and exciting..a Beauty Box/Bag Subscription made in Toronto Canada coming to our mailboxes!!!! Yes!!Stay tuned!!

This is Luckfully a satin super shock shadow that is a matte with a hint of shimmer. It is quite beautiful on and the pigment is very very strong, and has become one of my favourites.
Second up in my order was their empty palette for the Pressed Shadows which I was extremely happy to purchase this time around .It has a magnetic bottom to keep them intact and safe
Having bought two items that totalled more than ten dollars my third up was free! The limited edition Birthday Cake Super Shock Shadow in its Baby blue casing. A highly shimmering shadow that looks like a golden tan colour and is lovely! It will be perfect for the summer!
Thats it for now but it seems my love for Colourpop is growing and my virtual cart is already loaded with black SS, black eyeliner, brow liner all of which I haven’t tried! Until next time ! Thanks for reading!
This was my last delivery from colourpop from their sale plus free international shipping no minimum, unfortunately it was bitter sweet as the two pressed shadows were probably my favourite, the Super Shock Shadow was delivered in the wrong shade . The error was completely theirs. Instead of talking about the colours I feel sad to report that instead of making good and sending me the correct shade as it was their mistake. I was offered a coupon or refund. Now I bought during the Free Shipping as I live in Canada this is very important factor, for me to replace the shadow would cost me 3x more!! I think Colourpop is a wonderful company with great products but perhaps they don’t care about making it right and making the customer happy, instead they throw a bone at me and close the door! I felt really sad about this!!
On a good note I loved the Pressed Shadows in Going Steady a beautiful deep matte plum colour and Note To Self which is a gorgeous matte finish that is brown / neutral/ peach .
The only Super Shock I ordered was Hydroplane my wild card a beautiful blue of medium tone but received Dare which is a purple/ pink shimmer, it’s ok but more importantly not what I paid for!!
